Anne Mizen

Anne Mizen has been involved in music all her life. As a teenager, Anne was the organist and choir director of her church in Meaford, Ontario. Following graduation from the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto, Anne taught music in elementary schools in Ontario and for many years had a private studio of piano and vocal students. For several years, Anne directed choirs in Catholic, Anglican, and Presbyterian churches and then spent 26 years as music director and organist at Pickering Village United Church in Ajax, Ontario. 

Anne Mizen, along with Thomas Baker, founded the Uxbridge Chamber Choir in the mid 1980s and for many years she was the accompanist and assistant director.  Anne still participates as a guest singer and accompanist. In the late 1990s, Anne founded the Monday Morning Singers and has been the director ever since. Anne is also a composer and has written pieces for the Monday Morning Singers that choirs across Canada have also sung.

Anne is also an artist interested in paper arts, bookbinding and printmaking. She has been a part of the Uxbridge Studio Tour, exhibiting her intaglio prints, and has shown her work at various galleries.


Elaine Brandon

Elaine Brandon / Accompanist

Elaine Brandon has enjoyed many musical experiences as teacher, accompanist, and performer. She taught music in high schools in St. Catharines and continues to teach piano, voice, and theory in her home. Elaine has accompanied many young musicians for their exams, and at the Sunderland Music Festival, and has played for Suzuki String schools for many years. She performed locally with the Parlour Trio and in some musical productions at the Uxbridge Music Hall, and she has sung with the Uxbridge Chamber Choir. Elaine is pleased to be accompanist for the Monday Morning Singers.
