Anne Mizen / Director

Anne Mizen is a Canadian composer, choral director, and multi-disciplinary artist whose work reflects a life long dedication to music and the arts.

A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto, she has taught music in Ontario schools and maintained a private studio in piano and voice.

Anne has served as organist and choir director in churches across several denominations, including 26 years as Music director at Pickering Village United Church in Ajax. In the mid 1980s, she co-founded the Uxbridge Chamber Choir where she served as accompanist and co-director for many years.

In 2000, Anne founded the Monday Morning Singers, a women’s choir based in Uxbridge, Ontario, and continues to direct the ensemble. Her compositions, including works written for the group have been performed across Canada.

Also active in the visual arts, Anne works in bookbinding, printmaking, watercolour and paper arts, and has exhibited in the Uxbridge Studio Tour and local galleries.


Elaine Brandon

Elaine Brandon / Accompanist

Elaine Brandon has enjoyed many musical experiences as teacher, accompanist, and performer. She taught music in high schools in St. Catharines and continues to teach piano, voice, and theory in her home. Elaine has accompanied many young musicians for their exams, and at the Sunderland Music Festival, and has played for Suzuki String schools for many years. She performed locally with the Parlour Trio and in some musical productions at the Uxbridge Music Hall, and she has sung with the Uxbridge Chamber Choir. Elaine is pleased to be accompanist for the Monday Morning Singers.
